Recently major media platforms continued to engage in exaggerated reporting of crime in America, this is a deliberate template of media platforms in America.

Curated agenda driven journalism with regards to reporting crime in America is contaminated with flawed data and underdeveloped analysis. The racial and political impacts and outcomes of this destructive journalism has destroyed the lives of millions of Americans and their communities.

The impact of this curated media bias and flawed analysis has been destructive not only for people the media targets with exaggerated reporting and analysis of crime, but it has significant social and economic consequences for every aspect and segment of America from police reforms to economic development of struggling communities in America.

Entire communities have been stained by the labels coined by media platforms, capital investments and infrastructure improvements are ignored by business when the narratives of crime are based in false equations and data analysis.

There has never been an objective documented crime wave in America nor an increase in any measurable metric that proves that citizens of America are in fear of daily threats and danger as a result of criminal acts.

The FBI Crime Index is based upon survey data by selected venues in America. Many major cities in America don’t report their crime data to the FBI as a result much of this data is not reliable nor reflective of any real time crime narratives in America.

Homicides are not automatically murders but the public at large has been programmed by both the media and law enforcement agencies to believe every homicide is of a criminal origin.

Stranger Danger is extremely rare in America, even in urban venues, most victims of violent crimes know their assailants from crimes of assaults to rape and homicides. One’s zip code has little to do with being a victim of a capital crimes. Crimes of passion aren’t influenced by a zip code.

Consider NYC with a population of over 8 million people last year there were 485 documented murders last year in NYC. It is extremely rare that murder happens in NYC of course the template of media platforms is to report and project murder as an epidemic in America especially in urban and poor communities 

Rather than report the overwhelming majority of millions of Americans that not only don’t commit murder and also where the overwhelming majority don’t commit crimes. Media platforms in America engage in the polar opposite. Reasoned journalistic standards on the reporting and analysis of crime in America don’t exist. 

Rather than develop and implement journalistic metrics that will enhance and give credibility to the reporting of crime, readers and the public are bludgeoned with exaggerated incidents of crimes especially murders which as I previously noted are not at any epidemic rate in America.

There has never been a ‘crime wave’ in America nor any documented increase in crime by any objective measurable metric. Fact remains majority of Americans are not in fear of daily criminal threats. Reality does not bite in this regard especially with regards to being a victim of a crime in America 

The collateral damage of this curated journalism and media reporting is extremely dangerous especially when the specter of racism continues to exist in the politics of policing in America. Our politicians leverage these false narratives promoted in the media reporting on crime 

The Crime of Reporting Crime is a daily pathological operation of journalism wherein tragically American is a victim of this crime 

Americans deserve better from our media platforms

 The reason for my continued influence and respect is simple and profound

I create outcomes and influence that has residual and life altering impact 

Over the years I have counseled and provided personal blueprints and templates that have solved problems and built internal personal infrastructures for people to fix shit themselves

Years ago I published a narrative on ‘How to survive and prosper in an Urban Environment… I still get emails from people who have benefited from this narrative 

This year I have collected a roster of intellectuals and activists that are part of our collective rather than take out a book , One can schedule a ‘Zoom’ reading with them or an in person visit as part of our ‘Human Library

Woes

 Sometimes I am overwhelmed by the events in the world, this week it has been Afghanistan coupled with the daily presence of the various ramifications of the COVID pandemic 

More than often I personalised events by adding my burdens of inadequacy and frustration. How could I have impacted Afghanistan ? Why don’t my family members and friends take my counsel about vaccinations?

Oh the woes of being a human being…. I could still be poor , colored and alone Yet the creator designed another script for me 

I will solider on :-)

It is Us

 The most destructive force that confronts the sovereignty of America is not  foreign adversaries nor the economic power of China and others in the global marketplace 

The most destructive force that confronts America and our hegemony is the domestic and internal politics and cultural attitudes of the citizens of America 

The most lethal obstacles which confront the maturation and evolution of America is US

Americans are responsible for the overwhelming majority of internal and domestic violence that happens daily in our nation. It is our neighbors, families, peers, that present the daily risks and barriers to productive interactions and the pursuits of civic and community driven programs and agendas that makes America stronger, safer and productive 

The way forward in the world for America begins in America…

Activists need Luv

 Of late the Right and even Liberals have attacked Black Activists that seek to compensated  for their activism which has including threats on their lives and livelihood

For years Rosa Parks and other iconic Black Activists existed on basic survival mode without any independent income or support from literally millions of people who benefited from their activism 

I have always rejected the false narrative that activists must be meek and always sympathetic in our body of work with the oppressed in America 

I have always rejected the narrative that activists and artists must  experience suffering , despair and hard times to understand the reality of inequality and inequity in America 

Activists not only deserve to be compensated , rewarded and respected by the oppressed but Activists also need to challenge and condemn the backward attitudes and behaviors of the oppressed 

Everything is in play, nothing or no one  is given an pass or exemption from ending oppression and inhumanity in the marketplace. There are no safe harbors, venues, zip codes or people that are immune from my body of work

My Tribute to America on its Birthday

 An Activist Tribute to  America 

For many moons I never celebrated July 4th in part because I never believed the nation celebrated me and my community. America often reflected the false narrative that July 4th was the providence of only White Americans 

Of course reality and facts never endorsed nor acknowledged this myth and false  script of patriotism.

America has never been a White Nation despite so much of our history and national experiences sought to pay homage to this false narrative 

Truth is I am a PATROIT, soaked in the passion of being free and imbued with the inalienable right to secure life , liberty and the pursuit of happiness for family, friends and others including myself.

Many observe only the hue of my skin without exploring the substance of my character. In fact I am one of those responders in America that come to the aid of those rejected and denied the awesome splendour of America 

I love the experiences of unity, pride and share accomplishments of my country. I never take for granted the food on my table, the heat in my home the incredible service of Americans that have healed my wounds and educated me while many are away from their families and homes 

Let it be known that I love America and I will never betray nor abandon my country when sometimes I feel it has abandoned me . I will never surrender to evil, hate and cynicism of unfinished expectations and hollow promises of pledges, rhetoric and misinformation 

I was made in Detroit,  born out of the reality of America that dreams do come true 

I am not cancelling America when I am a Black Activist/ Responder

I am not cancelling America when I advocate for its ideals to be extended for All Americans 

I am the best of America because I am a Black Activist/ Responder in America.
