The Electorate

There is no question that one the worst class of citizens in America is the current population in America that is part of our electorate 

It has always been a  tradition and quite fashionable to rate , rank and evaluate  our Presidents 

However it is rarely the same tradition and practice to rate, rank and evaluate the electoral during the tenure of our Presidents 

IMO there is no question that current collective of the electorate in America is the very worst in many decades of course it is critical to not ignore the President 

IMO the people of America under the Trump Regime would definitely accept a state of Repression and a state of 

Draconian Martial Law

IMO given the policies and practices coupled with Trump’s Executive Orders our citizens would become’Good Germans ‘ without much resistance 

The ease in how so many Americans have accepted a now surreal ICE , DOJ ,  and other Agencies genuflect to Trump’s insanity as our President has been truly outrageous and disturbing

This is Gregory Hicks. I join with Kwasi Akwamu, who originally authored this letter. We are both board members with the East Michigan Environmental Action Council (EMEAC), and this letter is a direct appeal for your support.

This black-led nonprofit organization (EMEAC) is fighting to save our building, widely known as the Cass Commons, located at 4605 Cass Ave at the intersection of Forest, Detroit, Michigan. Our building is a massive historical structure that was given to us in 2013 by the First Unitarian Universalist Church (FUU). (Maybe you've attended or hosted an event in this space before?)

The building was deeded to EMEAC by way of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOU). The Commons has been a location for a wide range of non-sectarian community and cultural events and activities serving Detroit's majority-black population. A little over a year ago, officials from the church has sought through duplicitous means to reclaim this building arguing EMEAC violated the terms of the MOU. These officials never approached anyone in EMEAC with their concerns, but attempted to sue us in court to reclaim the building. 

In their rush to blindside us, they failed to even read the MOU which specified that any disputes be adjudicated via arbitration. Their suit was rejected in the court on that basis. Still, they never approached anyone in EMEAC about any of their concerns, but proceeded to make spurious claims that we failed to uphold our side of the agreement, which included allowing a Church member to attend our board meetings (which we did, and which they once engaged but at some point, stopped attending). Other provisions of the MOU sought to maintain the historical character of the building; and allowed the FUU to continue to hold congregational Sunday services in the sanctuary (which they continued to do).

After FUU’s lawsuit received unfavorable results, FUU undeterred and encouraged by the systematic operation of Trumpian styled white privilege continued in their efforts to attack black institutions, organizations, and individuals. FUU filed to reclaim ownership under Arbitration, forcing EMEAC to again, lawyer up and prepare to fight! At this point the Arbitrator is showing favorable leanings toward FUU. Our legal counsel will be filing an objection to the arbitrator’s preliminary award to receive a more legally supported judgement from the arbitrator and failing this approach we will seek relief for EMEAC in Circuit Court.

Our highly experienced attorney specializes in property disputes, and has been very attentive to details. Having led us through arbitration, and even bringing in a renowned architect and expert in historical properties who testified that much of the problems in the building were the result of deferred maintenance, not immediate or unrecoverable damage to the historical structure, the Arbitrator nevertheless decided to show favor to the Church which failed by every legal metric relevant to this dispute to defend their weak claims that EMEAC altered the historic character of the building and that the organization has allowed the building to deteriorate jeopardizing its historical character. 

As a nonprofit, EMEAC has poured a half million dollars into upgrades and repairs in the 13 years of its stewardship of the building. In the past two years, we experienced challenges with building heating as the boiler repair costs ($90K) exceeded our immediate ability to fix. In the meantime, we opted for a temporary remedy to enable continued building usage. The sanctuary, it should be noted, was unaffected and continued to have heat. Nevertheless, with no discussion or inquiry with EMEAC, the church leaped upon this as an opportune time to seize the building they volunteered to grant us.

Allow me to be blunt. The church with its dwindling congregation handed over the building that they themselves could not afford to maintain and could not sale. Yet, as the neighborhood surrounding the Cass Commons is undergoing widespread gentrification and investment, it is highly suspicious that the Church all of a sudden has a renewed interest in a building that they so willingly handed over just over a decade ago. Additionally, as our national political structures have turned more and more anti-black and extremely conservative, traditional philanthropic funding have largely disappeared for self-determined organizations like ours. To survive, we must depend on your goodwill! Our need is immediate and we hope you act today!

Returning to my opening statement, this is a letter seeking your support. Though EMEAC lost our battle in Arbitration, we are appealing this defeat. We aim to maintain ownership of this building and continue opening our doors to Detroit's majority-black community. We refuse to be shut out of this section of our city. However, your support is critical to continue this fight! We need your financial support to help sustain our legal challenge and pay legal fees as well as to keep the lights on.

Repost Circa Now: Open Range aka Universal Candidacy

At every level of public governance across the country and here locally in our state there has been a huge outcry about the lack of quality candidates in the market place for voters to select from when a civil office is open and a election is required. The candidates who decide to run for public office on every level have in many elections left a lot to be desire from the nature of their platforms to the degree of their character. Voters are clamoring for a new paradigm in which to select candidates to represent their interests in all matters of public business and service.

There is simply a demand for a process which provides for more qualified candidates especially in venues where arbitrary residency rules and eligibility protocol often acts to limit the probability of better and more qualified choices for the electorate to select from. The basic truth is that many ex residents of a city still have a stake hold in the city and many seek to help and give back in a meaningful way but are banned from becoming elective candidates because they do not live in the jurisdictions of the public offices.

To addressed this political reality my firm has developed a protocol which has the potential to improve governance at every level of electoral politics. We created this transformative idea with respect for the legacy of democracy, one man one vote, home rule , voting rights act and our constitutional rights and safeguards.

PLANE IDEAS Political Construct:

ANYONE can run for an elected office regardless of their domicile but only the voters of that city, district, county have the vested right to cast a vote for a candidate . This posture allows for the local eligible voter to retain sovereignty and final control over their political affairs. No voter disenfranchisement exists and home rule remains the sole province of the voter. Exclusionary residency rules and other non-inclusive candidacy eligibility measures are not in play when elected public offices are up for grabs. This is not a paradigm for a metropolitan type of government.

This approach provides all voters with an increased pool of candidates and it does not penalize anyone because of one's domicile. What drives this enhanced approached is the voters demand for an larger pool of qualified candidates who are not precluded or banned from seeking public office because of the candidate's eligibility and domicile.

All citizens and voters deserve the best candidate in the marketplace not just those who live within the electoral borders . Citizens and voters should not be handicapped or handcuffed by the lack of qualified candidates when so many of them are available and seeking to serve

We have recreated a construct we have labeled as ‘ Proxy Voting Option’ (c) exclusively for the public electoral domain.Thomas Jefferson while VP rejected it . We have improved it on this century 

Proxy voting is where a qualified elector aka registered voter can appoint to vote on their behalf … Many people in America have many reasons and excuses to not register to vote because of the entire voting in person process in America 

A designated and notarized proxy we believe should be able to vote for a designated number of registered voters with the appropriate consent of each individual registered voter!

The registered voter applies for a proxy authorization which declares their inability to vote in person and the basis to secure a designated proxy voter on their behalf !

In America there is already situations where Proxy Voting is quite legal and the norm in corporate voting situations and other business situations where BOD exists within the bylaws of an organization 

Now is the moment in our history to expand and insert ‘ Proxy Voting into public elections !,,,

Our ‘ Proxy Voter’ construct can be transformative evolution in the Democratic system and has the possibility of increasing voter in historical  numbers !

The emergence of a shared agenda between the GOP and DEMS against Socialism and its ascendancy is evidence of a number of shifts and realities in our politics

A strong healthy democracy requires a robust and informed electorate that participates in our elections. There are unfortunately many forces that seek to diminish the electorate in participating in our elections 

These forces include regressive and destructive partisan politics as well as lousy candidates, voter suppression campaigns and of course apathy with the electorate as well and other obstacles and barriers to robust electoral participation 

Rather than complain about the shortcomings of our electoral process , Democracy is better served by engaging and enhancing those voters that do vote with the very best and informed information and resources to equip them in the electoral process

A prominent HBCU college is engaged in banning the type of clothing its students wear 

This is a classic example of the mediocre leadership in vast segments of Black America

Ridiculous bans , hypocrisy and hollow posturing without substance is frequently why so many of our youth has zero respect for the elders in Black America 

I don’t understand why people  are fixated on what others wear????

Is that a HBCU fixation? … I don’t think so … These are traditions that don’t have any relevance never had in fact one could argue many of these Jim Crow reactions were not for our pursuits but to seek validation and credibility from White Folks the role model for appearances over substance 

The HBCU’s dress codes are BS and have absolutely nothing to do with intelligence or educational objectives

Many immigrants and foreigners come to America seeking a better life and I support this crusade of course many seek a better life at the expense of Americans especially Black Americans

It is in this space where the trajectory of Black Lives is in peril in our democracy .

This is where our communities must step up and control the electoral trajectories of Black communities, there is presently an assault on our sovereignty by state legislatures that are engaged in redistricting and voters suppression is the immediate political theatre that Black voters must confront and control these elections

The present day federal governance under the Trump Regime is regressive post industrial White Supremacy

America is now a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage.

On the health front our life expectancy is going backwards as a developed nation, our infant mortality rate is criminal as are too many of our kids with access to GUNS

The US  is the #1 arms merchant on the planet and we sell weapons to many nations that used them on their own citizens.

The wealth gap is increasing daily with more millionaires and billionaires while the poor population is accelerating and expanding rapidly.Immigrants and foreigners don’t feel comfortable in our nation today

America is lost at sea floating endlessly into uncharted territory daily

Both MAGA and Media Platforms are engaging in misinformation by reporting the ruling as 5-4 instead of 6-3 in favor of Birthright Citizenship

DL cut their starting defensive back because of allegations of a criminal conspiracy involving essentially vengeance

US Constitution prohibits the banning of DEI in our State and Federal Government

The US Constitution prohibits racial discrimination by both the Federal and State governments 

Racial discrimination by the federal government is prohibited by the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amendment.

While the Fourteenth Amendment specifically restricts state governments from denying equal protection, the Supreme Court established in the landmark 1954 case Bolling v. Sharpe that the federal government is held to the same standard. 

The Court found that federal racial segregation and discrimination are so arbitrary that they violate the Fifth Amendment's guarantee of "due process of law.

The Fifth Amendment states:"No person shall be... deprived of life, liberty, or No person shall be... deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.

Years ago when I was working for a major automotive company Rosa Parks lived in Detroit and I was writing multiple commentaries in every bar magazine , news rag and multiple newsletters that would publish me including gay publications 

When Rosa Parks passed away I sent and email to the CEO of my company requesting that all employees in the HQ be given time to attend her funeral given her iconic persona and stature 

The executive I was reporting told me he read my commentary and many others in the C suites

My request was never answered and about a few weeks letter I was a RIF casualty

Every US President in the past multiple decades authorized weapons sales to ME nations which lead to the deaths of innocent civilians, children , hospitals, schools , shelters, homes and even grave sites

The way forward also includes a movement where citizen driven referendums and state driven referendums against our federal government is possible and practical in this crisis 

It is possible and maybe feasible to remove appointed officials from their designated posts( Acting AG Todd Blanche) others that are engaging in activities that violate our constitution and the sovereignty of the citizens of the USA

CP Time

Another take on ‘CP Time’

For those not familiar with ‘CP’ it is a phrase used in the Black Community to describe Black Folks aka Colored Folks’ that are tardy, late and never punctual nor on time for anything from meetings to business appointments etc etc

In some circles it is a negative slur and derogatory depending on the situation and importance of an event 

What is frequently never understood about ‘CP Time’ is its origins allow me to inform and educate 

Years ago I met a couple of Black Historians while I was working on a project to locate and identify‘Lynching Trees’ during my research and interviews about lynching trees two of the Historians made a joke about ‘CP Time ‘ and Lynching 

One way a Slave could be defiant and pushback on their Slave Master was too deliberately be late, slow, tardy , when tasks were do on the plantation or the Slave Master needed something important to be done or a task that required punctuality 

The Slave would then engage in ‘CP Time’ including making his task be extremely important and the Slave’s entry was also important and dramatic as well making a dramatic entrance or appearance that pissed of the Slave Master who now was at the mercy of the Slave

Composition of the SCOTUS Matters

The US Constitution was inherently flawed so much so that it required amendments, it was also constructed by an only a select collective of White Men.

The constitution diminished the sovereignty of Indigenous People, Women and Minorities in particular Black People when it sanctioned Slavery and only defined Black People as fractional human beings 

The US Constitution interpretation has always depended on the composition of its Justices,  the legacy of some of its most transformative decisions  involved White racists Supreme Court Justices

Today nothing has structurally changed in the constitution,  it’s interpretation is still impacted by the composition of the court‘s justices which are influenced by politics and the agenda of the POTUS unfortunately as I previously noted diminished once again specifically Women and Black Americans lives

Demographic of Crime in America

 Of the 31 categories of crime the FBI lists, whites lead 28 of them and are arrested for 70% of all crime. Per FBI stats, White males, who are just 29% of the US population, are arrested for 57% of all violent crime & lead in mass killings, rapes, assaults, serial killings, etc.  [WHITE ON WHITE MURDER] 

Per the Bureau of Justice Statistics, between 2015 and 2021, the number of white on white homicide victims increased by 22%. In the last 35 years a whopping 465,000 white Americans have been killed by other white Americans. 91% of whites killed annually are killed by other whites.  

Per the FBI, white men represent just 29% of the population, but they comprise a whopping 91% of Familicides. The FBI states that an average of 1500 incidences of Familicides occur annually nationwide resulting in over 3500 victims. This represents the number one form of mass killings.   

Two-thirds of mass shootings are linked to domestic violence. Familicides are the #1 form of mass shootings in America and 91% of them are committed by white men. The FBI and BJS classify familicides, street level gang shootings, and public mass killings as mass shooting offences. 

White men represent 91% of all familicides and 60% of all Public Mass killings.

Equally important, white men are 29% of the population in the USA, but they represent a whopping 82% of all serial killers in America. 

Serial killers have been responsible for tens of thousands of murders over the last 25 years. 78% of the victims of serial killers are non-Hispanic white women. Moreover,  according to the FBI, in 2019 within Metropolitan Counties white men, who are 29% of the population, were offenders for murder at a rate of 54% per the FBI UCR Report Table 55. 

There are entire TV networks dedicated to real life White on White violence, such as the ID (Information Discovery) Crime Network, True Crime Network and the Oxygen (Crime) Network. Yet, the news media focuses on so-called Black on Black crime to depict Blacks in a negative light. Trailer park moms raise serial killers, mass shooters, child molesters, animal rapists, domestic terrorists, drug users, alcoholics, devil worshipers, wife beaters, incest committers, and mentally deranged, Inhumane, insecure, creepy, chronically depressed, suicidal psychopaths.

Sovereign Citizens Referendums

The USA is in the midst of presidential and constitutional crisis. We have officials engaged in activities which may  be unlawful and in violation of our constitution

Judicial Restraints

The history of significant structural racial change in our nation is in our judicial system with its processes and rulings 

This reality exists in matters of both individual justice and collective justice , recent SCOTUS rulings about state’s  electoral voting districts reflects this reality 

These rulings by the both the SCOTUS and state supreme courts essentially affirm the continuance of ‘Whiteness’ in our country where Black voters are diminished and our sovereignty is not inherent by regulated by our judiciary

All men and women are not created equal unless decreed by our courts this reality continues to make life fragile society for Black Americans 

Once again RACE is the supreme authority in America and in 2026 it continues to ‘trump’ everything ….

Youth Crisis

The youth in our nation are undergoing a crisis driven by a variety of forces including historical variables and modern technologies as well as lousy parenting and inadequate  government policies

Our educational systems also have failed to create innovative appeals to grasp their interests

We need now to be proactive and not reactive in addressing this crisis with our youth 

Law Enforcement strategies and religious ideals and health care interventions are also not the paths forward either 

We propose an approach which centers our youth to develop ideas, policies, solutions to this crisis

Hate fuels my Activism

 I continue to get a barrage of hateful comments and insults from far too many in the Jewish community because of my criticism of racism and bigotry in the Jewish Diaspora towards Black Americans including Black Jewish Americans 

This inconvenient truth and facts about Jewish racism and bigotry is a reality that exists in America given the overwhelming majority of Jewish Americans self identify as White have embraced the legacy of White racism towards Black Americans!!!

Where is the outrage and commentaries from Jewish Leaders, Rabbis and others?

Of course there is outrage whenever a prominent Black American engages in antisemitism and the like . Currently in our universities and colleges there is massive support from the Jewish community to ban DEI, Affirmative Action, Inclusionary initiatives from admissions to curriculum that focus on CRT as well 

All of U racist bigoted White Jewish Americans that attack me with vicious hate only fuels by Black Ass and my activism

Inconvenient Truths

It is disturbing the reaction to a UM’s  Professor salient and timely comments during the  public UM Commencement 

UM is a public university where Academic Freedom is one of the foundations of its existence as one of our nation’s most esteemed public universities 

To observe special interest groups and politicians attack both the Professor and UM is outrageous and quite disturbing while also being extremely disgusting .

I applaud the integrity and courage of the Professor and UM for not surrendering to the cowardice of those seeking to silence speech and Academic Freedom @ UM

It is absolutely critical that our public universities exist as a venue for Academic Freedom and Inconvenient Truths and Facts

There should never be any tolerance nor restrictions from these ideals in our public educational systems in America

Republican Party is a Racist Political Party

The Republican Party has been in America since 1854 and has never nominated a Black American candidate for President or Vice President in America!!!!!!

This basic unequivocal FACT is the official and undeniable policy of the Republican Party in America

The trajectory of making a difference

While driving home last week, I observed a five young Black teens handcuffed sitting on a street corner with their car doors open and paint ball guns on the roof of the car, there were 5 police cars and numerous police officers at the scene 

It was an ugly spectacle , I get out of my car with my phone and start talking pictures a police officer confronts me and tells me stay back 

I told him , I am back far enough and next I am going to take names and badge numbers because this is over kill 

I demanded to see the officer in charge soon the captain came by and I told him this was really overkill for teens with water/paint guns !

The police captain told me he stopped the car when he saw the paint guns hanging outside the car window 

I told him that may have been appropriate but the overkill was not!!

I convinced him to release the teens and let me talk with them. I did just that with a lot of profane words!

Frequently RACE defines how the police react White teens are adolescents and Black teens are delinquents

The outcome to often for Black teens is shit like this overaction

The Hollow VRA

Regarding the SCOTUS ruling to gut the Voting Rights Act:

White people created Racial Identity and all of its derivatives including laws and practices that are centered in Race

There is no need  for Civil Rights Laws unless Racism doesn’t exist

White People created racism in America today’s ruling simply affirmed this centuries old reality 

This SCOTUS ruling is clearly the ongoing racist narrative of ‘ Whiteness’ which is now centuries old in America but a obsolete fucked up binary political partisan legacy 

The Voting Rights Act was put in place to specifically to protect marginalized people from the overt and systemic racism of the white majority, and from voter suppression and intimidation 

Whiteness made possible this fucked up VRA ruling by the SCOTUS  it affirmed the legacy that well-established political machines can legally disenfranchised minority voters.

There is this racist narrative of late which seeks to cast Black Men as lethal threats to Black Women, this racism is yet another pathological aspect of those who believe Black Men are inherently dangerous and criminals

Facts: There are 21 million Black Women in America of which 22% are under 18 years of age according to the latest FBI Crime Index tragically 241 Black Women have died from Gun Violence this year

 For Consideration:  Volunteer Disarmament 

The continuing carnage in America caused by the violent use of GUNS has to be confronted. We need a series of transformative national policies to immediately impact the possession of GUNS in America both legal and illegal possession and ownership of GUNS

The proliferation of guns in our society has been staggering and deadly, there is not a day in America where the specter of GUN  violence impacts a family and a community with horrific consequences 

Our nation is fixated on GUNS and it is killing and causing injuries that are beyond the pale of anything that can be tolerated in a civilized society 

Our society is a culture where GUN violence is now an accepted norm and tolerated 

In America the gun is worshipped as a sacred artifact. The fervor for guns is beyond any sense of reason and borders on insanity. Gun violence not only destroys lives but the health costs of gun violence is in the billions. The reality of suicides and gun mishaps in the homes of families is tragic and senseless.

It is critical that as a nation and culture we must take a life altering posture and position towards GUNS

Plane Ideas believes that ‘Volunteer Disarmament ‘ is the most effective strategy and posture to address GUN violence in America 

We can achieve  extremely high rates of ‘Disarmament’ with effective rates of compliance by implementing governmental policy driven structural processes that include lucrative GUN income tax and credit deductions, including healthy incentives to not own GUNS and GUN Buy Back Programs 

Plane Ideas strategies include banning GUN sales and limitations on the manufacturing of certain types of GUN manufacturing, as well as mitigation of specific designated crime sentences for GUNS surrendered to the government 

Our communities and our own lives are more secure and safe from gun violence with the absence of guns than the ownership and possession of guns in our homes and in the community. 

We are safer as a community when NO ONE OWNS A GUN! Disarmament saves lives in both normal and crisis situations in our country.

We must disarm our nation and our communities. We must be advocates for the sanctity of life in America in all communities.

Wrong Religion

Years ago during my early activism, I lived in Southfield, MI a inner suburb of Detroit, at the time I was living in Southfield it was in a transitional period where it’s Jewish residents were leaving and Black Folks were moving into Southfield.

There was two major events happening the B’nai David Synagogue,was up for sale and a CityCouncil person was resigning. 

I decided to submit my request to become the new council member and I also advocated against the city purchasing the Synagogue or any religious building which tax payers had to pay for years 

The Southfield City Council was primarily Jewish with a few Black City Council members , I also advocated for an election process not a appointment process for the replacement council person 

I became quite controversial and a target for my activism….My interview was quite adversarial and of course I was not appointed.

In the marketplace of politics in America everything is in play including religion, race, class and one’s consciousness nothing has changed in decades in fact it has gotten worse

Intentional Exclusion

One of the universal laws is the properties of consensus and the absence of collective insights and wisdom creates a vacuum of emptiness and failed outcomes 

It is prevalent everywhere in the world when segments of consensus are omitted and eliminated from a collective resolution there is a diminished and frequently hollow outcome and results 

In the Trump Regime there is a deliberate and intentional policy and protocols to remove Women and Minorities from policy decisions and implementation of government services and programs including peace negotiations currently in the war with Iran

There are no Women or Minorities( especially Black Americans) on the negotiating team as a result it is virtually impossible to secure a comprehensive agreement/ resolution with all the parties in the Iran war

There can never been a consensus without the genius of everyone insights and experiences. Trump’s team is impotent without the genius of Women and Minorities 

Trump ‘s reliance on only White Men is a miserable failure and nothing of substance can be achieved with only White Men making decisions that impact all

The Situation Now in America

This last year in America has been surreal and sometimes unrecognizable on so many levels and layers 

The Trump Regime has brought the nation unimaginable levels of chaos and incompetence that has created levels of anxiety that is off the scale of anything reasonable 

Daily threats of massive layoffs and downsizing is the theme of Trump Regime, In the private sector AI is hovering with its own threats of downsizing and layoffs in areas where careers never encountered such concerns

Of course the most vulnerable sectors of this atmosphere of chaos and uncertainty is the usual collectives of the poor and needy 

There is no safe harbors or sanctuaries in the hurricane of the Trump Regime, stability, reliability and security don’t occupy any space or place in this state of America under Trump’s insanity 

The lack of faith and trust in the reliability of our basic federal government services and accountability has left the entire country in a state of instability from air travel to dysfunctional government websites 

Our  government particularly the Federal government is a mess from getting the mail delivered to concerns about reliability and performance from our  bureaucrats , all of this mayhem is a cluster fuck of late

Literally everyday is unpredictable and soaked with apprehension and uncertainty and doom 

This is not how a nation that was founded centuries ago should operating in this century 

America is lost at sea floating endlessly into uncharted territory daily
