Vaccines and Black Folks

As a Black Activist for over 5 decades in America , I will always speak truth to power regardless of race or politics

Regarding Black Americans and Covid -19 vaccines here and now in America

The overwhelming majority of Black Americans are not reluctant to take these vaccines

The media especially continues to send this racist messaging based solely on polls and racial assumptions

This destructive narrative insults the basic intelligence of Black Americans and our instinctive capacity to recognise the reality of lethal infections like Covid -19

This is America 2020 not America during the years of the Tuskegee Experiment on Black Americans

The fact remains Black Americans know that the worse adverse effects of a vaccine is not death yet death comes with lethal adverse infections of the Covid virus

Now is the time to demand by any and all means necessary the equitable distribution of these vaccines to Covid’s most vulnerable communities clearly Black America is one of these communities

Vaccines and Tuskegee

The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment was inhumane. The deception and treatment of its Black  patients was truly evil. Its impact on the moral and ethical implications of medical research in our society is profound

In reality as human beings, We have a moral and ethical duty to save and preserve our life and others.

The development and creation of the Covid-19 vaccines is nothing remotely like the horrific research done in the Tuskegee study which only used Black people to conduct experiments and research

Covid -19 has targeted the most vulnerable in our nation including a disproportionate health care calamity of infections and deaths for Black Americans with Covid-19

Black America has a moral and ethical duty to save and preserve our lives and others. History provides us with profound knowledge Yet we can’t allow it to handcuff our considerations in saving and preserving life in this pandemic
