Virus- Thoughts At Large

Our Supreme Court is one of the most profound institutions in America it has been a beacon in the face of assaults on our liberties for centuries. To observe our present SCOTUS not hold oral arguments because of the risk of infection from the virus and then issue a ruling to sanction the election in Wisconsin is an outrageous act of hypocrisy and cowardice . Rather than secure the ‘general welfare’ of Americans pursuant to the express dictates of our constitution this Supreme Court has affirmed a death warrant for many Americans in Wisconsin especially Black voters by not postponement of this election BLM

Virus - Thoughts at Large

Our government should fund or nationalize every hospital in America to service all of the healthcare costs to fight the Virus.

Our government has bailed out factories that make machines , weapons , military and Yet our government is not stepping up and funding every hospital in America to treat Americans with the Virus!

Healthcare workers should not to fired nor laid off in any hospital in America!!

Americans are the government and our government was created to serve the welfare of the people!!!!

What the fuck is going here with our priorities lives matter nothing else

Virus -Thoughts at Large

Virus & Race Issues

Yes it is a topic that requires discussion of late especially in urban venues in America. There  is a twisted and nasty narrative which is inserting  race in this pandemic .

It encompasses race from the scapegoating of Chinese to Black folks living in cities like Detroit, Chicago, NYC, Philadelphia etc as having extreme rates of Virus contamination as compared to Whites in rural and suburban communities.

Some of the discourse includes an acknowledgment of economics and the historical aspect of economic inequities including jobs that don’t provide adequate sick leave for the working poor to housing venues which lack hospitals , healthcare facilities etc. Too much of the narrative is negative and divisive.

There are many  people living in urban venues whose life styles and cultural experiences are being targeted for the disproportionate rates of the Virus infections .

Of course many of these analysis are myopic and driven by the optics of bigotry and the absence of historical facts. For example most middle class Black folks living in suburbs will get the Virus because many still have deep extended families and relationships with their families in our urban ghettos that impact the community spread of the Virus.

Social distancing works but it requires a run way and calibration of time and reality to reach its maximum objectives.

We of course cannot be in denial that many people regardless of race will engage in self destructive behaviors including unwarranted social gatherings.

The Virus of course does not care about historical social realities of our nation and society. The Virus is truly an EEO proposition

Virus- Thoughts at Large

This is not the time for politics at any level of government to many lives are at risk

Governors who resist national safety protocols for the Virus pandemic are similar to those Governors who supported the racist legacy of ‘States Rights’

Every American with an address or shelter location should be given a federal check many Americans don’t file tax returns and are not on the government radar

Hotels, Motels, RV’s any and all buildings should be retrofitted for housing and medical facilities

Digital hand free Thermometers should be available in every public venue ( like Blood Pressure Machines in CVS) for public usage

This is not the time to engage in proprietary and privacy turf battles

Virus - Thoughts at large

We need data on the risks of infection based upon race , class and venue. We need to understand the social distancing is not an option for those whose work includes services that are intimate and involves‘touching’ people.

We need to recognize that the poor and racial minorities view ‘panic ‘ in a different context than the middle and upper classes. When one is living in hell on a daily basis the capacity to handle ‘panic’ is not unsettling.

Economic elitism is easy to see in America as we encounter the Virus .

Panic situations for the poor and others in America bares a different coping perspective. It warrants our examination and respect. Navigating around endless urgencies and tribulations becomes an adaptable skillset with the poor. Quite often it subjects this bandwidth to ridicule when in fact it warrants acknowledgment and recognition. There is a brilliance and pragmatism in the genius of this collective of Americans that should be a template to model for all of us The poor in essence are subject matter experts on daily coping paradigms many of which involves situations of ‘panic ‘ and survival. The crude optics and orthodoxy of some choices that are difficult to comprehend for many Americans that don’t occupy these inconvenient spaces and places in our society. The presence of normalcy and even nobility exhibited by the poor in the presence of such hurricanes of inequities brings me to my knees B Safe America BLM
