Color Me Crazy

The Juan Williams saga has surfaced a series of significant issues and observations from a number of concerns and considerations in various Black venues of America. I have no reservations about the nature of Juan's comments from my vantage point as an activist his words were blatant bigotry and troubling given a nation like ours with a tortured legacy of negrophobia of late frequent incidents of islamophobia.

Just as troubling as Juan's words were the remarks of Vivian Schiller NPR's CEO her comments that Juan should consult a psychiatrist were as lethal as the hate speech uttered by Juan Williams. Yet I have yet to observe the Trotter Group or the African -American Online folks challenge, confront and/or publish any commentaries regarding Schiller's venom.

The Trotter Group and the AA Online summit folks both have allowed the Obama white house to used them as conduits in outreach ventures now that Obama's is in a meltdown and the midterm elections are on the calendar YET when Black activists and others are under siege by the character assignations on our mental faculties I have observed nothing but silence and avoidance from the collective clout of the Black media outlets in particular The Trotter Group and the AA Online summit folks.

In the area of civil rights and economic initiatives Black activists have always been on the vanguard and suffered every measure of venom and inhumanity from the majority culture. Our roles have produced as much progress and accomplishments as any sector of the Black community in America.

Again I reiterate why the silence from Black media outlets when whites demonize Black men who dared to have an opinion. When can Black activists expect the Black media to come to our assistance as they did for Obama?????

We hurt to when the hurricane of venom and ridicule rains on us 24/7.

On the topic of Ms. Schiller's remarks there have been numerous reports that she "quickly" (within the day?) apologized for making the remarks. There's at least a couple more questions that should be asked:

Should she be called out for making the remarks in the first place?

How should she be treated for making an apology before many leaders and organizations had to push her to do so?

Tragically one of the narratives that continues to exist in America even during the Obama era of a post racial world is this custom and legacy of demonizing Black males as "crazy aka mental issues" by WHITE AMERICA...

This practice continues to stain our nation and of course sting and wound Black males like me who are often the target of this venom...

I have also heard this hate speech from other ethic groups and people of color as well.It must be confronted eveytime it is spoken in any venue...

I'm sorry, but what are you talking about? How is saying Williams should see a psychiatrist "hate speech?" You just say it, as if it's self-explanatory. It's not. Without some kind of explanation, it sounds like nonsense. I'm quite sure that even *with* explanation, it will be nonsense, but without it, it surely is.

And actually, what you're saying here sounds pretty bigoted -- against people who see psychiatrists. But now I see from the rest of your blog that pretty much all you do is look for things to find racially offensive, and then rather inanely complain about them using lots of empty adjectives and cookie-cutter phrases, whether the object is worthy of such criticism or not.

Bodfio,

Given the nature of your content it is pretty apparent you are not a Black male nor have you been on the end of such "hate speech"..

Your posts was so ignorant that YOUR shallow and failed effort to link my concerns and objections to "hate speech" and "negrophobia" only reveals the intellectual coward and idiot you are..Please don't step on the legititmate concerns of people who do need professional medical assistance...

The next you post here please have the courage to add some value and stop hiding behind a firewall and an alias..

Oh yeah I can also recommend a good psychiatrist for you as well...

1) This proves that the AA Online and others don't do "Black Protection". They do "Black Progressive Protection" only. The Blogs that I read were cheering Williams' demise from NPR

2) Juan Williams suffered the same fate as Shirley Sherrod. Had people bothered to listen to the next 45 seconds of the same interview they would have seen that he was making a TRANSITION into arguing AGAINST profiling.

3) A blog today said that Williams was taking the "Buckwheat Seat" in Fox News. He is an "agreeable Negro" that won't challenge the conservatives. It is stunning that none of the DJs that work on urban radio stations are never called out for their heavy rotation of "Hip Hop Voice Of The Street Pirate" music that embarrass the Black community far more than anything they could ever pin on Williams.

A phobia is an irrational fear. It cannot be "Islamophobia" when they're actually trying to kill us.

Your denial only confirms your Islamophobia....Get Over it..
